Re: Cyclone TU150P (Fanuc OT) on Phase Converter

You won't have any problems running a cyclone off a phase converter but if you do go down that road then go for a direct drives digital one because they generate true three phase and not a phantom phase like transwave inverters and you will need the neutral generator fitted as well and it would need...

Re: air chuck conversion

The cyclones that had air chucks on where fitted with Richard Leader ones. There shouldn't be any reason why another make can't be used with the appropriate back plate. I have the Richard Leader one and its a cracking chuck but I can't use it on stainless so I had to take it off because it didn't ha...

Re: 1003 Turret Positioning Failure

Had the same problem on my cyclone tool turret and it turned out to be the green rotary switch in the back which was slowly collapsing on itself on the pins.
Take the turret off and take the rear cap off and check the rotary switch and while your at it check the microswitch :)

Re: triac tool changer orientation troubles

hi phil Not sure whats gone wrong with this machine since you got it off me because it was in full working order but i can help but think that the bang it sustained in transit is playing a big part here. If you look through all the manuals i sent down with it you will see all the parameters in the l...

Re: Denford TU150P 0T-C Problem

From reading this post it would seem there are 2 problems with the lathe. Problem 1 being the tool changer which sounds like the rotary switch is playing up or on its way out. Problem 2 sounds like a limit switch on the axis is either full of crap or is also on its way out because your fault is inte...

Re: Denford Cyclone problems

The rotary switch is diectly available from Baruffauldi but they aint cheap as iv got 2 sat on my desk now. Before you buy a switch are you 100% sure it is the rotary switch in the back because if your not then dont foegt that these turrets are phase to phase so it wont rotate if you have the phases...

Re: desperate for help! running a VMC and CYCLONE

Keep both machines on fanuc or youll loose the best features of these machines without a doubt. The keyboard problem on your cyclone will more than likely be down to a broken wire during transit as i had the same problem. Just trace the wire from the front to the back and check for continuity and re...

Where abouts are you based mate because if your not to far out i can pop over and take a look.
Much easier to see and work out with your own eyes that way than trying to visulise from an explanation.

Re: Triac spindle

Thanks for the relies so far guys. I thinks its a 1986 model with fanuc omc system and has a lynx o8 drive card. Its got to be something silly and simple because i had it powered up the other day and didnt have this problem so im thinking along the lines of a relay or something sticking but i could ...

Re: Upgrading A Triac Spindle Drive

The LYNX series of DC motor speed controllers are designed for efficient speed control of conventional wound-field and permanent magnet motors in the .55 to 7.5kW range. . The series consists of 3 models each capable of 220/240 volt or 380/440 volt 50- 60Hz supply operation. The drives are designed...

Re: Upgrading A Triac Spindle Drive

The motor thats on is a Lenze and run off a Lynx 08 board and some time ago it blew the thyristor and went away for repair where i told the company not to alter the pots but they altered one (if not more by the looks of it) so weve been having to play with the settings but cant get it where we have ...

Re: Upgrading A Triac Spindle Drive

After some investigation today it would seem that the old Fanuc motor was replaced with a Lenze motor thats got no guts in it as i can nearly stall it over its entire speed range :dumbfounded: . Will have to spend some time digging in to this and see what i can come up with because its hardly going ...
